PROVISIONAL REFERENCE SUBSCRIPTIONS TO CANCEL - 2004

 

All divisions with reference collections were asked in Spring 2004 to review their entire list of reference subscriptions. Because reference books may be used by others outside the home department, and since some overall annual fees (like the Copyright Clearance Center) are paid for by reference funds, this list is posted so that everyone at the University Libraries can review it. There are still points to clear up on this list.

This list was compiled 19 April 2004. General Reference, Science & Engineering, and Government Documents had turned in lists. Lists from Special Collections, Middle East, and Fine Arts will be added when they are received.

Please email Barbara Cox ( 7-9167) with comments by Memorial Day. We need to cut over $300,000 from the overall materials budget. The Serials Collection Working Group was hoping for about $95,000 from reference materials (About $25,000 was already in hand from Govt. Docs; we were hoping for $70,000 beyond that.) The posted list has roughly $75,000 -- some items are part of packages and don't yet have a price, on the other hand there are things here which, although nominated by one department, are probably important to another part of the library.
