MAJOR INDEXES FOR METALLURGY

Metadex (1966-present) help guideThis resource is available to University of Utah users only.

Indexes the world's literature on metals and alloys: their properties, development, manufacturing and applications. Citations from thousands of journals, conferences, technical reports, patents and dissertations. UU owns some of the material indexed and hopes to set up links from citations to our online subscriptions. Printed equivalent is Metals Abstracts, TN1.M5153.
Sister databases can be searched separately, or concurrently with Metadex. Click on "Change subject area" in upper right of main screen and choose "Materials Science"

-Corrosion Abstracts
-Materials Business File
-Weldasearch

INDEXES OF OCCASIONAL USE TO METALLURGISTS

Compendex (1896-) 1970-present help guideThis resource is available to University of Utah users only.

Index to professional literature in all major engineering disciplines. Abstracts come from 2,600 engineering journals, conferences and reports, and the 1990s segment of the database includes citations from an additional 2,500 sources.
Use the printed equivalent, Engineering Index, TA 1 E62, print index shelved in Science Reference, Level 4 Marriott, for material published between 1896 and the start of Metadex in 1966.

Science Citation Index (1955-) 1980 - present help guideThis resource is available to University of Utah users only.
